Craig Steinberg

Craig Steinberg: Founder and CEO of WBC Designs

A Journey Rooted in Family and Heritage

Craig Steinberg is the driving force behind WBC Designs, a company rooted in decades of family entrepreneurship and dedicated to making the web accessible for everyone. With a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from McGill University and a diverse background in web design, graphic design, and digital marketing, Craig has been leading WBC Designs since its inception in 2008.

From “Web by Craig” to WBC Designs

Craig’s journey into web design began in high school, and his passion for the field only grew stronger over the years. Influenced by his family’s entrepreneurial spirit and their emphasis on customer satisfaction, Craig founded “Web by Craig,” which later rebranded as WBC Designs. Under his leadership, the company has expanded from Montreal to Toronto and Halifax, offering full-service design and marketing solutions to small businesses, start-ups, corporations, non-profit organizations, individual professionals, and artists.

Values Passed Down Through Generations

Craig’s dedication to his community and ethical business practices is a testament to his family’s values. His grandfather, Morris Steinberg, instilled in him the importance of customer loyalty and respect, while his father, Bill Steinberg, taught him the value of integrity and ethical conduct. These principles are the cornerstone of WBC Designs, reflected in their commitment to exceeding customer expectations and supporting the community. Beyond Business: Volunteering and First Responding

Beyond his professional achievements, Craig is also a passionate volunteer and first responder. He has served as an EMT and first responder in Canada, the United States, and Israel. His volunteer work includes mentoring newcomers to the IT industry through Digital Nova Scotia, participating in several non-profit organizations, and hosting community events like pub quizzes and hiking trips.

A Love for Animals

Craig’s love for animals is evident in his home life. He has two cats, Silver Lining and Storm Cloud. Growing up, Craig was afraid of cats and even hated them. However, while volunteering on the ambulance, he met a really cool stray cat that changed his perspective. Realizing he was being “specieist” (racist against the feline species), he decided to rescue Storm and Silver a decade later. Silver has the personality of a dog in a cat’s body, while Storm is a sweetheart. This experience provided the “silver lining” to Craig’s initial fear, and he also fondly remembers his former dog, Cole.

A Philosophy of Living Life to the Fullest

Craig’s personal philosophy is to live life to the fullest, laugh and enjoy oneself, love oneself and others, and always keep learning. This outlook is mirrored in his diverse interests, which include camping, cooking, dancing, hiking, skiing, and traveling. He is fluent in English and French and is continually learning new languages.

At WBC Designs, Craig and his team are dedicated to empowering clients with a robust online presence while maintaining a commitment to social responsibility, diversity, equity, and inclusion.
